2016 vintage. Soft and indistinctive nose and flavors upon opening and stayed that way for the better part of two hours. Then started to gain substantial weight/heft, and spice complexities on the finish. Opened this waay too early but it lost a coin flip to the 2019 Alain Voge VV Cornas. Wow! Like most of Burgundy, only a quality somm would have directed me here and my lack of knowledge but trust in a pro reaped huge dividends. Easy on the wallet, and the taste buds.

A solid Rhone here, with a nose of lilacs and violets.
Lighter body than you may be used to, cassis, boysenberry pie. A touch if heat and a lot of tannin will round this one out.
In my opine for a lot of whine, needs 5 years before drinking for full enjoyment.

Drinking with Mom, Dad, and Emily in France at Alain Jaume! Apparently this is 100% Syrah. Color is purple red for sure. Nose is smokey with maybe some caramelized sugar? The taste is very spicy, leather and smooth. It is very good. — 3 years ago
