2016 Las Suertes is a gorgeous barrel fermented Verdejo with tons of charm and character and a fair amount of complexity. Prettier and more fine-etched than expected on the palate, it shows soft fruit of honeydew melon and white peach with a succulent key lime note on the finish tinged with subtle minerality. Aromatically it suggests ripe orchard fruit and citrus blossoms with a hint of fresh coriander. More air reveals a slight tropical nuance. Nearly weightless on the palate, this is a very fresh and cleansing white that will provide an excellent counterpoint to marinated shrimp and grilled fish dishes. — 7 years ago
Another great Jorge ordonez selection! For $12.99 this bottle is a steal! — 8 years ago
Great texture and richness but the acidity makes it weightless...Delicous.. — 9 years ago
40% Mazuelo grape attracted my attention as I knew little of this varietal. A beautiful enrichment if the garancha / Syrah backbone exposes the rich flavors of the region. Another fantastic selection of Jorge Ordonez! — 10 years ago
Excellente! Jorge Ordonez & Kracher - ancient Muscat - yeah buddy - peach and honeysuckle graceful perfect balance light on its feet - just wish I had a case more — 10 years ago
It's a hot night & im having some beautiful Sherpa & goats milk based cheeses & my reliable pal Jorge Ordonez has this promising White Viura packaged under the Borsao label (very trusty old vine Garnacha!). Wow! This wine was perfect. A little bit of barrel aging kissed with a scent of citrus but full of beautiful fruit with a perfect mellow acid backbone give this wine a structure that is far superior to its $8 price.... I don't know how long one can shelf this stuff but buy a case for summer quaffing.... A great wine! Thank you Jorge & to Leonardo Loscasio... Thanks for supporting Jorge's selections! — 11 years ago
Produced by acclaimed Spanish wine importer and consultant, Jorge Ordonez, pale lemon color with stone and tropical fruit aromas and with floral citrus scents. On the palate flavors of peaches and pineapple with citrus zest and hints of chalky notes. Well balanced with lively acidity, long finish ending with mineral, citrus and wet stone nuances. Very nice. Pair this with some sushi. — 3 years ago
A joint venture of Jorge Ordonez, Bodegas Borsao and Chris Ringland, located in the town of Bulbuente (Zaragoza) Spain. Alto Moncayo is the flagship of the winery. A single-grape variety of Garnacha, from vines between 40 and 70 years old, aged in new barrels for 20 months. Bold aromas of fruit and spice. On the palate black fruit flavors, rich and full-bodied, with complex spice. Fine tannins, savory, good structure ending with a smoky character. Very nice! — 8 years ago
Owned in collaboration with Chris Ringland, Jorge Ordonez, Miguel Gil and others, located in the Valley of La Aragona inside the Murcia district of Jumilla. Dark Ruby, purple edges, with aromas of black/blue fruits and spice. Cabernet/Monastrell blends shows blackberry and blueberry flavors, complex spice, tobacco and cacao with an earthy feel. The finish shows some leather notes, well structured, smooth tannins and should improve over next few years, too young to fully enjoy now. — 9 years ago
Beautiful smoky Tempranillo ... One can literally taste So much of the terroir of the region ... Another masterpiece election by Jorge Ordonez! — 10 years ago
Another sweet muscatel from Malaga but thinner and a bit more complex in flavor than the Ordonez, in my opinion. — 10 years ago
