Before trying this out, I didn't really know Prieto Picudo. This was like a Lake County Zin with more pronounced fruit and a little less spice. Such a monster of a wine, and so pleasant considering it was a 2007 vintage and thus 6 years old at the time of consumption. Very well put together! — 13 years ago

You can smell the high alcohol content in this one. Fruity, bright, and spicy in the nose. Wow, intense with coffee, chocolate, spice, and dark fruit. Good tannins, and thick going down. Lingering finish. — 6 years ago
