Recall that La Boutanche is a project designed to bring good, low intervention wine to the people for around $20. Different producers so a variance in quality too. So it goes.
The ones from Le Sot de L’Ange (bulldog label) are the best of La Boutanche I’ve tried and “Melon” is a serious step above. It’s creamy and rich, voluptuous, assumed from extended lees contact. It has white creamed corn, Granny Smith Apple, bitter almond, chamomile, white flowers, and fennel. — 6 years ago

Finished the lasagna and this is dessert. Damn it's big. Juicy and low tannin sitch, like biting into a plum. Gary the bulldog snores in the background. Kate opened a bag of Tate's cookies and life couldn't get much better. — 9 years ago
