My experience here was different than my expectations. This drinks more like an Aussie cab than a Shiraz, but lighter in style. If tasting blind, I’m not actually sure I could even take this to Australia. The use of American Oak kind of leads you there, but the richness I expected from the shiraz isn’t evident. On the nose, sweet American Oak notes of coconut/dill spice, as well as ripe dark red and black fruits, sandalwood, and a musky/earthy note. Again, the palate was a bit lighter than expected with similar notes to the nose. Faint licorice and dill on the finish. Quite integrated now, and not sure it gets better with time, just different. — 5 years ago
