There are years where the fickleness of the weather prevent the even ripening of all the grapes on the bunches, and as the grapes cannot be harvested before the stems themselves fully ripen, on these years any extra ripe grapes will detach themselves from the stem while on the “table de tri”(sorting table). Since the traditional Burgundy vinification methods require the grapes to be fermented “entière” (in whole bunches) the loose berries are not used, despite being wonderfully ripe. — 5 years ago

First day to break out the summer wines!! Classic Ribolla Gialla! Cloudy orange color. Big nose filled with citrus and tangerines with a hint of honey and oak. Same on the palate and very vibrant. Shortish finish. — 4 years ago

Consistent! I’ve tasted several vintages and I’m mostly very pleased. Drinking Very Local. I may be biased, as I am currently living 3 miles south of the winery, sometimes that can cloud your perception. But this stuff is good. The QPR is out of this world. A Collection of great Australian Reds - Christmas Break up of the Tennis Group. Always a consistent Cuvée in the Penfolds stable but let down a little by the so so 2007 vintage in the Barossa. More savoury than fruit driven with liquorice and dark chocolate. — 3 years ago

My Sunday night wine I have gone back to a favorite of mine that is not going to break the bank and is consistently good. I have opened the Jim Clendenon 2018 Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir Santa Barbara County.

On the nose there is raspberry, cranberry, cherry, spice vanilla anise, clove and earthiness.

On the palate I detect good red fruit, raspberry, cherry, cranberry, red currant, anise, clove and earthiness.

The wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity and medium fine tannins that leads into a long fresh red fruit finish. Another well blended wine from Jim Clendenon that i have come to expect.
