Côtes du Rhône Villages Red Rhone Blend 2024

Clear, medium ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with medium intensity primary and secondary aromas of lavender, maraschino cherries, and leather; on the palate, it's dry with medium plus acidity, medium plus tannins, high alcohol, medium body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of blackberries, black olives, fresh asphalt, and camphor with a long finish. This wine is complex, and intense. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. — 3 days ago

Beaujolais-Villages Gamay 2024

Light bodied red… strawberry notes especially on the nose. Some spice notes. Very decent bottle from Publix, think I’m enjoying this vintage more than last years. — a month ago

Nouveau Nouveau (mas oui!) Columbia Valley Gamay Noir 2015

Thanksgiving week so time to open this PDX baby up, made in Portland but grapes grown in Columbia Valley (they are an urban winery, fun place to visit). Purple, slightly cloudy, medium pigment extraction. Blackberries, blueberries and black currants in the nose. Soft, moderate alcohol, fruit with length and mild seed tannins in the finish and aftertaste. Graphite as well. I love this stuff in the autumn; get some now. Nothing fancy, just tasty, rustic and evocative — a month ago

Côte de Nuits-Villages Pinot Noir 1996

A tale of two cities. Bottle #1 had an enjoyable nose of decaying earth, red fruits and with air some darker fruit. One could tell it was a ‘96 given the unresolved tannins and the powerful acid. Mushrooms and darker fruit in the mouth. Bottle #2 unfortunately was DOA.. Very shrill and stewed fruit. — 3 months ago
