Interesting blend of Clairette, Chardonnay, Chasselas, and Cinsault. Quite a bit of sediment. Fun to try. — 2 years ago

Vieilles Vignes Vacqueyras Grenache Mourvédre Blend 2021

Cute label with a nautilus. Pretty color with a hint of rose petals. Smells like hibiscus red zinger tea and cranberry sauce. Flavors are mellow and warm. Fruits in a toasted Danish. Finish is tannic yet likable. — 25 days ago

Domaine du Colombier

Hermitage Syrah 2022

2022 vintage. Via Coravin. Medium-heavy body. Well made and delicious yet nothing specifically and currently driving the bus during the field trip. Needed more back-end action but not evident on the finish. Seems like an hour or three in a decanter would do this some justice and completely change this constructed narrative. 02.26.25. — 10 months ago

Léa Sélection Fixin Pinot Noir 2010

2022/5/31-6/1 with ayu karaage, hachiku several ways, niku-dofu, etc. This is my favorite of the lower-priced Léa reds - there’s really nice acidity and flesh, and enough age to be fully open with hints of complexity but still with vibrant fruit. Really good on day 2 as well. — 4 years ago
