Aged for 15 months in used barrels from Pavie and Monbousquet. A solid,bold wine, ready to drink, with good fruit and some of the chalkiness that I associate with Castillon. Read the hype, bought the bargain, drank it alone like a responsible adult. Too bad the 2021 is too young and tight-wound at first, but on day three it exhaled and pulled me completely inward. 2022/6/8-10 with scallop crudo, homemade fresh tagliolini al Portonat, frico, etc. A nice mix of more “typical”, bright Sauvignon Blanc citrus and herbs with richer, stone fruit notes.
