Melanie brought over for Xmas — 3 years ago
Most importantly, Happy Mother’s Day to all the Delectable friends out there!!!
We opened this for Mother’s Day Eve celebration. Melanie got this for me for my Birthday. She called Hunnicutt behind my back and said I really like them, what could she get. I win. Yes, I know, I punched way above my weight, friends remind me of this often.
The wine quickly. Vanilla and tobacco on the nose and then everything melts together the fruit, tannins, weight, and finish just come together and go on and on. It’s so good. First time having 12 year old Beckstoeffer fruit. So great!!! — 6 years ago

Brief notes. Great Pinot from the Giant Steps Applejack Vineyard are an annual event these days. The 2023 vintage has just been awarded Halliday’s Pinot Noir of the year. This wine was pale to mid crimson. Red cherry. Essence of Pinot Noir and one of Australia’s best. The reputation set up by Steve Flamsteed and carried on by Melanie Chester and the new ownership in the USA. Sweet sappy red fruits. Medium weight. Very good. — 2 years ago
Yes. Inexcusable offense of drinking a baby of this magnitude. Now that we’re past that. Every year I drink a bottle of this allocation right away with differing results. The 2016 is INCREDIBLE now! The fruit is accessible, there is tremendous balance, it is mouth coating, the tannins are great throughout, and it goes on forever.
I decanted for 4 hours and sampled pop and pour then about hourly. I did not share with anyone. Don’t tell Melanie when you meet her 😉
Color is inky garnet/purple.
Nose is white flower, blueberry, stone/pencil, and licorice.
In the mouth is blueberry, black raspberry, chocolate, sweet vanilla, and finishes with a touch of pepper (first and second hour more woody oak/cedar). This is amazing. I’m sure it’ll be a 100 someday. 5 bottles left, can I wait that long?

A perfect champagne to celebrate a perfect friendship! Cheers to your new fabulous home Melanie!🥂 Loving sharing this 2011 vintage with you! What an elegant and feminine Champagne with a blend of Chardonnay from Côte des Blancs and Pinot Noir from Cumières. Delicate hints of strawberry and rhubarb with a mineral finish with impeccable finesse. #champagne #vintagechampagne #2011 #louisroederer #saturdaynight #celebration #housewarming #funtimes #vin_elegance — 7 years ago

My favorite my daughter Melanie found it for me. Jt's crisp, light, refreshing, and sweet everything I want in wine! Yum! — 8 years ago
Between 9 (melanie) and 9.1. Under ripe fruits and less smooth than other zins but opens nicely. Full bodied and high alcohol. Very enjoyable- Carly. — 8 years ago
drank this with Ia while watching the Harris v. Trump presidential debate with Melanie. 9/10/2024. Really lovely wine. Really lovely company. Harris did a great job. — 2 years ago

Yummy Sicilian we had at Lelabar. Nose reminded Melanie of fruit snacks. Great wine for drinking on its own. The fruit comes in strong but not overpowering. Very juicy and lush. Beautiful light color / on the lighter side of medium body. — 7 years ago
Melanie is super getting into the Rhône’s with this bad boy. Long Island dinner sommelier recommendation - Melanie tasted fruit leather, I tasted off brand cola. Either way great mouth feel and a lush finish. — 8 years ago
Brought home my baby boy this morning! We’re celebrating with a bottle from the winery where Melanie and I got engaged.
The wine is phenomenal. Spring Mountain has a consistent, unique nose of flowers and strawberry. It’s the most inviting bouquet in my book. Cherry, raspberry, and light fruit combine with just a little chocolate and soft tannins at the end to make this structured and elegant, as well as an easy drinker. — 8 years ago
