Wouldn’t call it a session, but what a well balanced pale w/ a distinctively citrusy jib. — 8 years ago

Very strong at 13%, but you can't tell from the taste. Dark and smooth with maybe a chocolate type finish.... ? :-) — 10 years ago
Stone fruits, lemon, grass and steel. — 10 years ago
Limit release, Imperial coffee stout, espresso beans chocolate vanilla, hops, beautifully done, very good, love coffee, love hops, love a good Imperial stout, that is exactly what you get — 10 years ago
Nice nice. Peach yogurt, lemon, wet stone, some nuttiness and Parmesan? Some mild grassiness? Long finish. Crisp. — 6 years ago

A great milk stout, extremely drinkable. — 10 years ago
So delicious. Rich, bitter and thick as oil. — 10 years ago
Lovely nose, fresh strawberries, honey and stone fruit. A nice crisp finish. A favorite of mine. — 6 years ago
Surprisingly, I kinda liked this despite my aversion to overly-hopped beers. The nose is a straight up hop-bomb - floral, citrusy, piney. The palate's also full-on, with heaps of hoppy bitterness, but balanced by malty sweetness and tropical fruit notes (passionfruit and mango for me). Finishes crisp and earthy. Not bad, but not my kind of beer (not an IPA fan basically). — 7 years ago
Floral, kaleidoscopic nose, stone fruits, med body, med acidity. Fun wine 👌 — 9 years ago
Like no IPA you've ever had. This beer is citrusy and SWEET- which was pleasantly surprising. I don't normally like sweet beers but this one I will make an exception for. Pair this with lighter fare such as crackers or pub snacks. I can imagine enjoying this on a warm day, too, due to its fruity character. Be warned-- there are plenty of hops for us hopophiles so if that's not your thing, steer clear. — 9 years ago
Can you make Stone's Ruinten even better, yes! This California release only is the same Ruinten with added orange peel and vanilla Bean, gives it a smoother taste profile, adds a cask taste and sweetness, Outstanding!!! — 10 years ago

Grace Koshu 2023 – Yamanashi GI, Japan 🇯🇵
Overview
Produced from 100% Koshu, Japan’s signature indigenous white grape, this wine is fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel to preserve purity and transparency. Grown in the elevated vineyards of Katsunuma, Yamanashi, it beautifully expresses the restrained elegance that has made Grace Wine an international benchmark for Japanese fine wine.
Aromas & Flavors
Yuzu, lemon peel, green apple, white peach, Asian pear, and delicate white flowers lead into subtle mineral notes with hints of wet stone and citrus zest. Delicate rather than aromatic, everything is driven by finesse.
Mouthfeel
Light to medium-bodied with vibrant acidity, a steely mineral backbone, and exceptional precision. The texture recalls the purity of Chablis with a subtle sake-like silkiness, finishing remarkably clean, refreshing, and focused.
Food Pairings
Sashimi, sushi, crudo, oysters, grilled white fish, tempura, steamed shellfish, or lightly seasoned Japanese cuisine.
Verdict
An elegant expression of Japan’s flagship white grape that prioritizes freshness, balance, and precision over power. Refined, mineral-driven, and wonderfully food-friendly, it stands comfortably among the world’s finest delicate white wines.
Did You Know?
Koshu has been cultivated in Japan for nearly 1,000 years and is believed to descend from ancient grapes that traveled along the Silk Road before adapting to Japan’s humid climate. Today, Yamanashi is considered the spiritual home of premium Koshu wines.
🍷 Personal Pick
One of the purest and most distinctive white wines I’ve experienced. Its combination of crystalline freshness, mineral precision, and understated elegance makes it a benchmark not only for Japanese wine, but for delicate, terroir-driven whites anywhere in the world. It has earned a permanent place among my favorite food wines. — 2 days ago
