Reva Alban Estate Vineyard Syrah 2013

Lots of sediment but turned into lovely wine. Much better than my last one. These apparently need a lot of time. — a day ago

Presqu'ile Winery

Presqu'ile Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023

The 2023 Presqu’ile Pinot Noir displays a Bing cherry appearance, that is backed up by red cherry aromatics and flavors.

Definitely more Burgundian than New World Pinots, it is light >medium bodied, quite savory, very well balanced with juicy acidity, and light dusty tannins at the finish which definitely clear the palate.

I think the 2023 is a great example of not overpowering the fruit with manipulations from the winemaker’s tool box. It Clearly punches above its price point.

Stolpman Vineyards

Estate Grown Ballard Canyon Syrah 2019

Blackberry, rich and quite thick on palate, but with some very nice underlying acidity that provides some nice tension on the palate and into the lingering finish, very fine Central Coast Syrah! — 2 months ago

Alban Vineyards

Seymour's Vineyard Syrah 2014

Seymours is my favorite Alban. Never disappoints. This needs another 5 years at least, but will last much longer

Jebs 98 point review The 2014 Seymour's comes from a higher elevation site that’s hammered by the winds off the Pacific Ocean. Classic Seymour’s all the way with its huge nose of black fruits, tobacco, ground pepper, crushed rocks, and ample meatiness, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a deep, layered mid-palate, building tannins, and a great finish. While the Seymour’s is always the most backward and austere of the three single-vineyard Syrahs, the forward nature of the 2014 vintage shows in the wine’s texture and slightly more charming, forward character. Nevertheless, this brilliant Syrah will cruise for 20+ years in cold cellars.

We have started our “dry month.” One week in and will restart over thanksgiving. If I didn’t have so much wine, would probably give it up. I’m more productive without alcohol…

Cambria Estate Winery

Katherine's Vineyard Chardonnay 2021

Very nice Chardonnay! Yellowish with pear, apple, white floral, and piney aromas. Nice body with a long finish. A little bit of butter and tartness. Great with our Salmon and Risotto! — 2 months ago

Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021

This 21 was better than expected. Was gifted to me and went perfectly with some casual carry out Chinese appetizers. Soft and spicy with gorgeous fruits not too tart and not flabby. — a month ago

Zaca Mesa

Santa Ynez Valley Syrah 2010

13.5% abv. Little viognier. Label says “ savor it over the next ten years”. We sure did. Even more tasty in 2025. — 2 months ago
