A great Texas Hill Country Merlot — 5 years ago
The Southold experience asks you reintroduce yourself to familiar grapes. There is no typicity so throw your schooling out the window.Love Just Because is purple brown Dolcetto that smells like sour wild blueberries and beef jerky steeped in iodine. It’s bloody and meaty - metallic and full of salt. Also pulpy and fruity and sour and nothing you’ve seen before. — 6 years ago
Earthy natural wine but pricey. $60 direct from winery — 6 years ago
Very pleasant Texas Malbec. Consider it a solid red table wine. — 7 years ago
@Delectable Wine this is the estate grown Kuhlmanation Rosé... it was not in the database.
This is an incredibly balanced wine. The nose on this wine is strawberries and peach. The entry is more of a nectarine than peach. Very thick and viscous. The middle is where more of an herbal characteristic shows and a hint of watermelon. Pineapple and kiwi shows up at the finish. Intriguing bottle of wine. Most complex bottle of Rosé I've ever had. 9.4 and not ashamed to give that rating. Kudos Kuhlman! — 8 years ago

A wonderful wine by a beautiful, great new Texas Hill Country vineyard. — 6 years ago

I had the ‘16 vintage of this a few months back in comparison to the Ron Yates SB. I thought the ‘16 was nice, but that the Ron Yates SB was better in every aspect. @Ron Yates told me, in his opinion, the ‘17 Spicewood was better than both the ‘16 Spicewood and the Ron Yates ‘16.
It’s 103 here in TX, and I’m sweating more than this bottle, so it’s prime SB weather.
I’m happy to report that I think I’m aligned with Ron here. In comparison to the Spicewood ‘16, the aromatics on this just jump out of the glass with tons of fruit. Kiwi, lychee, and peach...wow! Great nose. Sharp acidity highlighted by honeyed grapefruit, limestone and chalk. Well done, Ron! — 8 years ago
Love this, oaky, kept it room temp — 4 years ago
Visiting Fredericksburg TX for a few days. This is TX hill country and has a big winery community. Never tried any TX wines before but found a few surprises here. We tasted at Becker earlier today but not this wine. $30 on the restaurant wine list. Becker wasn’t our favorite stop but it is the only local winery represented on their list. Overall local wines seemed overpriced compared to CA wines. Just realized we had an older vintage (2018) on our last trip from Houston to Anaheim. It’s interesting that most of the grapes used in the local wines come from Lubbock (panhandle) area. Don’t know where these grapes came from, or what varietals are present. — 5 years ago

Amazing - lots of fruit, smooth — 7 years ago
Texas wines have grown. This is an outstanding blend of Grenache Syrah and Mourvèdre from Salt Lick Vineyard. This is a complex wine with great structure and finesse. Great to see the Lone Star State wines mature and compete in the world stage. Visited the Fall Creek Vineyards. Well worth it can’t get it retail because of the limited production but can get it online. New release of the 2016 vintage. Excellent! — 8 years ago
Great with food, or by itself. Very smooth — 8 years ago

Super smooth, light and slightly sweet. Red berries on the nose, with a very clean finish. Easy to drink, and goes great with dark chocolate. — 18 days ago
