amazing vintage for the Bern bad. great example ilof #Riesling. #ACID — 11 years ago
I usually like Barolo from La Morra but this was somewhat of a dud. Very surprising as 2016 was an excellent year. It was unidimensional from opening to a few hours later. Shy nose, dark cherry, licorice and more mineral than undergrowth on the palate, and the finish was the highlight with a long leathery finish where hints of spice finally appeared. Maybe an off bottle given the ratings?
Different bottle a couple years later in September 2025 - much better - the prior bottle must have bern a bad bottle. This bottle has all the smoothness spice earth and cherry- based complexity that reflects the excellent 2016 vintage. Still a bit of grippy tannins at the finish. Very happy with this bottle. — 2 years ago
Bern 1.5 years since my last bottle and this has really improved in that relatively short period of time. Confectionary and expansive nose. Pineapple, lime zest, lime flowers, citrus and a bed of thick minerality supporting it all. Beautiful Meyer lemon. Just terrific aromas. Palate is mineral and incisive as ever. Literally no fruit to start with luscious mouthwatering minerality throughout. Chewy and tense. Great mineral grip. Long finish. Very serious and no rush at all. For rock heads only as it ages. Fruit recedes. I love it but others might not. — 6 years ago
Super drinkable, balanced and refreshing. Maybe because I was thirsty, but I really liked this one — 9 years ago
Tasty! Reminiscent of St-Bern, but less creamy and a bit more crisp. Blonde, slightly cloudy. Smooth 8.5%. $3.30 for a 330 ml fr SAQ store in Mtl. — 11 years ago
So, Bern's may be pissed cause I took this pic post steak; but, this is a 2000 Bordeaux:)! I think I caught it just prior to its gradual decline. In other words, I'm digging it (subtle but true nose classically characteristic of St. E coating my tongue and mouth then drifting down my throat while lingering elsewhere. I would do this entire activity again & again:). Hooyah Bern 's & right- on Chateau Simard...:) — 12 years ago

Has a beautiful ruby color!
Nice fragrance of dark cherry, raspberry, ripe berries and chocolate with a hint of spices.
Drinks nicely with soft tannins with a bit of pepper & spice and finishes with some dark berries on the palate. The more it breathes the smoother it becomes... — 5 years ago

Good. Bought at Bern tasting. To reorder — 10 years ago
Another beauty fr St-Bern. Creamy, burnt caramel. Tastes like their Prior 8, but not quite as smooth due to 10%. Cloudy brown with nice little "floaties". — 11 years ago
