Wildeberg

terroirs Paarl Chenin Blanc 2019

Doubtless my value white wine of the year to date is this impressive old vine Chenin from Wildeberg, from vines planted in 1977 as the label attests.

The nose is replete with scents of orange marmalade, honey, honeydew melon, baked apple, candied apricot; gorgeous aromas.

The palate is medium bodied, oily with great depth and mouthwatering acidity, featuring flavours of salted butter and orange pith. Great elegance through the palate, and good acidity. This drinks very well now, but will no doubt age well too. Really, really compelling stuff.
