A typically good Bass Phillip Estate PN from a good vintage. Mid red in colour with a tawny hint. Aromatics of stewed red fruits with Sous Bois/compost heap. Dried herbs. The palate is delicious showing those savoury red fruits finishing with silky tannins. All coming together at 10 years of age. Sadly my last bottle from this vintage.

See previous note for a 2016 Estate in September 2022. Mid to transparent ruby red. A gorgeous fragrant nose - red fruited, stalky, dried herbs. The palate just as gorgeous - all those aromatics transfer to the medium weight palate with medium plus intensity. A class act from Bass Phillip as always.

My first 2016 BP Estate. Powerful red fruits with a whole bunch stalky element. A typical BP Estate with that stewed fruit rhubarb type character Similar to many other BP Estate Pinots I’ve had on Delectable from other vintages.
