Surprisingly fresh with a really pretty mulberry and black cherry nose. A blackcurrant confit center with hints of oak and a bit of musk. Stop a bit of hidden power but clear and precise. Very good

1970 vintage. As yet, the most mature vintage I’ve had. Surprisingly, this didn’t seem tired at all. Just enough acidity left to balance out the fruit and earthiness. Mostly strawberry and cedar/vanilla on the palate with some peppery notes too. Even better in day 2. Good show! Merry Christmas.

Already almost dead like a 80-year old granny expecting to leave at 85... Could easily confuse with a dying Piedmonte (both Barolo or Barbaresco) of the same age
