Bodegas Muga
Rioja Barrel Fermented Viura Blend
La Rioja, Spain
My customers would love this. A shame I didn't commit to them. I'll buy in anyway.

I typically enjoy white Rioja and this is no exception. Deep golden color, subtle but apparent oak usage - very tactful. Bruised orchard fruit, dry hay, ripe citrus, and a green celery type thing. Heavy and oxidative, without going overboard with either element. Went surprisingly well with seafood gumbo, which I had no idea what to pair with.

A little oak influence but tastefully done. Peachy, tropical nose. Clean acid. Short austere finish. Perfectly fine with a plate of tapas.

Oct 9th, 2016Surprisingly amazing, complex and balanced, fruity and mineral all together. A start of green apple and pear; citrus all the way with almonds, dry fruits and vanilla at the end and on the nose.
