Bam! Surprising amount of tannin still left. Spreading this over a couple of nights. First night - opening up with ripe plush red fruits, some cocoa, cloves violets, with a touch of smoke and cedar once you really get your nose in it. Balanced palate but still tight. Day 2 - upping the rating to 9.5. Structure holds up very well, surprisingly fresh but supple fruit, still giving off that fulsome violet aroma.

Tasty Rightbanker, cruising through midlife. No signs of decline yet.
Friendly, plummy fruit, tobaccoleaf and soft damp forestfloor nuances.
Very reliable producer. And from a great vintage, of course.
