Ruby and almost opaque. Nose of slate, barnyard, and a little green element. Round and smooth in the mouth. Modest finish. Not bad at first. But with more air the green thing became more prominent.

The 1993 Pichon LaLande is great right now. Younger daughter's birthyear wine, drank with '89 Lynch Bages at Christmas dinner. More fruit than spice/tar in nose. Good acidity with softer tannins in the finish. Nice cherry fruit on the palate. Fruit lingered well in the finish. Drink up over next couple years.
