Plenty of root beer and licorice notes off the nose now day 3, and rich milk chocolatey plum and blackberry fruit. Had more stones and spine in the beginning of its oxidation, but this is still a softer, rounder, more polished cahors than many. However, it is quite dense, harmonious, and the oak is well integrated. I prefer em rougher around the edges, but this is excellent wine for a mere $17!

Dark ruby in colour, hints of licorice and plums on the nose. The palate; nice and smooth, balanced with spice and chocolate, but not too sweet, with a subtle fruit finish. Full bodied wine, with deliciously complex tannins. Drink from 2017 onwards. Paired nicely with a tomato gnocchi rigatoni.
