Cloudy Bay started the Kiwi "Sauvalanche" over 30 years ago with their excellent (still is) Sauvignon Blanc. This however is their Central Otago Pinot from the Te Wahi Vineyard. This rating for the 2010 but also tasted their 2015. Solid Otago Pinot.

Smooth and fruity. Opened up nicely during the meal. Random punches of strawberry keeps you on your toes.

A lovely Pinot to start off a Thanksgiving weekend. A fine nose very present from the time you open the bottle.

Fresh, acidic. I expexted more explicit fruit and red berries, though.

Jun 19th, 2015The "Cloudy Bay" winery made a new pinot noir wine. This is the new wine "TE WAHI ". It means "the place " I think it's a one of top level of New Zealand pinot noir. Wonderful!

Great example of what New Zealand can do with the grape. Luscious fruit, long, smooth finish. Mushrooms and forest floor on the nose. Great stuff!
