On the nose, you get big smoke from the 2008 fires in the greater Napa/Sonoma. It shows on the palate as well. Then, rhubarb, pomegranate, strawberries take a back seat to the smoke and the baking spices; nutmeg, cinnamon. Light framing on their 08. Slight chalkiness and minerals on the finish.
