A great full mature complex Bordeaux that kept a kick of youth and is not as boring as many new Bordeaux wines - subtle and gentle 😊

As classy as they come; medium-bodied, fresh and layered with partly resolved tannins, cedar notes, red and black currant flavors, earthy minerality and a lovely, vivid finish.

Subdued and elegant. This one has held up quite well.

Interesting TCA experience. As soon as I removed the capsule, there was an overwhelming blast of TCA. Got the Durand with a sinking feeling. Cork came out easily and it was very heavy and with a dense grain. Decanted. . . and it's fine. Better than fine. Cigar box, sweet plum goodness. Went back and smelled the top of the cork thinking maybe it was my upper lip, but nope, that thing reeks of TCA. Weird. But happy.

Still lively and young lots of fruit and acid

Rustic and autumnal, classic Pessac. Damp earth, mushroom, tobaccoleaf, beef stock, bright red fruit. Very elegant wine, drinking a point.
