Funky, but in a good way...the Bootsy Collins of the Languedoc. Marianas Trench-deep, flashing complexity and depth rivaling a Jackson Pollack painting. Fantastic wine, particularly with tonight's beef goulash. Not a wine for the faint of heart or for people who need a squeaky clean wine experience, this is great on its own terms.

Pale garnet, very warm on the nose, loads of tertiary smells, wet leaves, tobacco, smoke, peppery, very ripe/baked plum. Still quite fruity on the palate for a 16 year old wine, long finish.
