Domaine de L'Arlot
Clos des Forêts St. Georges Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir
Nuits St. Georges, Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2013 pours a deep, slightly hazy ruby color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with beautiful notes of strawberry, raspberry, dried roses, sous bois, licorice, dried green herbs, gentle warm spices and limestone minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and full of rustic character. In general, the 2013 vintage in Burgundy is on fire right now. And as far as Domaine de l’Arlot is concerned, I adore these wines and wish I could drink them more often. Drink now through 2038.

Apr 19th, 2026Bright with dried cranberry, herb, cherry, citrus rind aromas. Floral red fruits and herbs on the palate. Great texture and length with framing, fine-grained tannin. Juicy and delicious now with some time in the decanter. But would like to see it again in 3 to 5 years

Dark and concentrated with plenty of earthy layers. Wound up and grippy but love the raw rusticity of it. Reminds me of young Cornas in that sense. Black fruits, moss, dust and clay, tar, mushrooms, meaty, and this crazy herbaceous character I can't pin down. Almost a tobacco/cedar note.

Monopole with 3 distinct soils - darker, more brooding, with red fruit, tar, herb, and a little mint, with good structure and tannin.
