Domaine des Gerbeaux
Pouilly-Fuissé Chardonnay
Pouilly-Fuissé, Mâconnais, Burgundy, France
I technically know why there is no Premier Cru in Pouilly-Fuisse, but there really should be. Just reviewed a Beauj Blanc and compared to Macon, but this is the real deal.
ML isn't overpowering, but evident with the body and less butter. Believe it's 50/50 old and stainless, so it has the creamy body without dropping the acidity for butter. Very lovely texture. Has green orchard fruit, yeasty notes from lees contact, ripe meyer lemon and pithy tones. It's a game Macon. I really want trout right now.
