Les Champs-Gain Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay

From a restaurant in Puligny-Montrachet, popped and poured. Lt gold in the glass, subtle fragrance of honeysuckle, pit fruit and a little vanilla in the nose. Rich and nicely structured in the mouth. Great finish. Good showing.

So we had these beauties at our NSM dinner.

Totally fantastic right now. So pleasurable a complex, with this toasted sesame note that I've been picking up in great white burg recently. Just the right amount of everything. Harmony. Balance, in the true sense.

Not the excitement of the other carillon

2011

14 carat gold color. The nose is open on notes of white flowers, honeysuckle and lemon. On the palate powerful well-supported mid-palate and a long finish. The palate is very harmonious with a perfect combination of acidity and oak. The taste of the honeysuckle really seduced me and the mineral finish. A beautiful bottle that can be kept for many years but so beautiful now why not pop the cork !

Greek lemon yogurt with raw almond/hazelnut notes and a stoney minerality. Sour lemon pithe on the palate with tart intensity. A great example of why I love PM.

Liked Very much. Light.

Very Puligny. Light lemon custard. Softer than I prefer. Not a keeper
