Les Pucelles Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay

Gorgeous. Bright lemon and limestone with a sizzly detailed acidity. Really pure and dynamic and long. Lovely balance and intensity

Doesn’t have the typical refinement of a pucelles. Wine carries a lot of weight on the mid-palate and gives a high alcohol (heady) impression. Drink now.

A slight pleasing herbal note echoes across the nose and palate. Fruit is subtle and in the background with the structure in the foreground, but there’s a nice interplay of balance between the two. No hint of premox, it’s as it should be. Very pretty wine, even elegant.

Maybe a bit reductive? It blew off but and became very pretty later on.

Great contrast to the leflaive wines.

High minerality, oily and totally right to drink now
