Les Souteyrades Gigondas Red Rhone Blend

We tasted nine Gigondas, 2003-2010, from Domaine Saint-Damien, Domaine Santa Duc and Chateau de Saint Cosme, considered by many to be the top three domaines.  Last but not least

Absolutely beautiful that is showing perfectly at this stage.

Fruit forward with raspberry and cherry but tempered by leathery tannins. Perhaps too much fruit for me but drank it up.

In a great place, richness with finesse

Soft, with dark berries and lingering tannins.q#

This one wasn’t pretty right outta the bottle but really improved with a serious decant

Still somewhat tannic but lots o dark fruit. Needs a few more years to peak.

Tasted the 3 girondas cuvees over the last 2 weeks - Souteyrades is the best one. All three wines classic southern rhone wines - fully mature, grenache with dense fruit and garrique
