This wine is a monster right now and it was opened yesterday. Inky dark cassis; blackberries, black plum, plum, black raspberries, blue fruits, hugely pronounced tannins, anise, strong leather, tobacco with ash, soft spice, vanilla, caramel, dark & milk chocolate, anise, cedar, black olive, black tea, dry crushed rocks, rich loamy dark soil, great; structure, length, balance, tension, acidity and long rich, elegant, full finish that doesn't end. Pictured...the tasting cave at Hourglass. Or, maybe it's a lounge?

Chocolate covered cherry on the nose along with baking spice. Bold flavors of caramel, cherry, toasty nutmeg, and oak. The tannins are sleek and nicely integrated. We love Hourglass wines. This one does not disappoint.
