Le Grand Noir
(Black Sheep) Vin de Pays d'Oc Pinot Noir
Languedoc, Languedoc Roussillon, FranceGirlfriend picked this French Pinot Noir (one of my favorite styles) and found this vintage behind the 2019's on the shelf. Color is deep purplish black, nose has dark fruits, leather/tobacco, and a hint of funk, moderately high tannins and a decent acidity to balance. Full bodied, this wine delivers flavors of prunes, dark berries, leather, and mulling spice. I would drink this wine again and even let it age.
