Barbera d'Alba

Had at Scarpetta in Las Vegas. Not bad, although it was a little thin compared to typical Barberas. I've had better at lower price points.

One of the best #barbera I have tasted. Smoked paprika, oregano and strawberry on nose. Bright red fruit, wonderful acid and great balance on palate.

Olive tampenade and leather with dark fruits and subtle herbs. More structured than other Barbera I’ve had.

On the nose medium intensity and lots of cherry. On the palate dark fruit and hints of vanilla. Not so much acidity as expected. Long finish. Nice!

Concentrated red fruit, some sweet spice (plus chocolate?) and a hint of roses. Solid acidity, deep fruit on the palate.

Purple/Black, concentrated fruit, yet well-rounded and even.

Mar 6th, 2016Solid wine. Purple flowers and herbal notes reminiscent of lavender overlain with the blackest of cherries, ripe, sweet blackberry, liquorice, and fresh soil. The acidity is refreshing and the tannins are lush and supple. There is a lovely red cherry finish that lingers. Excellent Barbera from a fine producer.
