This is my very happy place with Pinot Noir. Not that much further north of Burgundy, the Loir produces a small amount but impressive expressions. The immediate, out-of-the-bottle nose was of angle food cake and sugary fruit candy. Then on the palate, excellent balanceof mineral, fruit and acidity. 2010 vintage.

2010 vintage. 100% Pinot Noir. Pale ruby hue. A great nose - leather, earth, bracken, red currant, wild strawberry and medicinal. On the palate, medium minus body, medium acidity, light tannins. Great finish, albeit medium in length. There's a moreish character to this wine and it's got a sweet finish that works well with the savoury mid palate. Delightful.
