Tonight I have opened the 2013 Zisola Sicilia a 100% Nero D'Avola. I wanted to try something different because there has been so much talk about how the wines from Sicily have come such a long way.
On the nose there is black cherry, black plum, prune, licorice, chewing tobacco, dried herbs and a hint of cocoa.
On the palate I am getting black cherry, black plum, plum sauce, herbal notes, spice, pepper, tobacco, leather and dry clay.
This wine is full bodied with medium + acidity with medium high tannins that move right into a prolonged finish. An enjoyable wine that could be used with food or by itself. Have a great weekend and please stay safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Nice and fresh with fun but piercing tannins. Leave it open for a day and they will round out nicely.
