2009 Mark Herold Wines Acha California Tempranillo

I wouldn't have pegged this as Tempranillo dominant blind, but now looking at production notes it does remind me of some modern Rioja wines. Sweet black cherries, tight tannins, racy acidity and a touch of brambly dried herbs on the finish.

Nose is strong, powerful, and full of flavor. Oak flavor dominates with distinct acidity. Fairly good for the price.
