Lou Coucardié Costières-de-Nîmes Red Rhone Blend
Costières-de-Nîmes, Southern Rhône, Rhône, FranceSuper dark and rich. Enjoyed it with steak but definitely better for deep winter / rich meats. Also: 15% ABV!

Smoky, meaty notes on the nose. Big, bold red fruit and earthy minerals. Tight tannins provide a strong grip. For me, this could be a lot better if the components were more in balance. Acidity, grip, and heat from alcohol crest up and down at different frequencies. Things seemed more in synch when paired with food. This needs red meat and a good dose of fat.
