Riserva Montefico Barbaresco Nebbiolo

Nice rounded barbaresco. Good red fruits, spice and white pepper with fine tannins to finish. Very nice! TBL

Delicious. Gave it an hour decant and it could have used more. In general, was more ready to go than I expected, though I’d still wait a few years before pulling more. Wonderful nose that goes on and on. A bit of mustiness on the palate that blows off well. Great restrained fruit and acid, especially for a hotter year.

Can’t get enough of this, just beautiful. Red berries, herb, menthol on nose. Very polished. Elevated unexpected Dominos Christmas dinner.

N: Like cherries dipped in balsam/menthol. Mushrooms, underbrush, amarena cherries, leather,on and on.
P: Bright acids and furry tannins, but mid weight, stony, nary a trace of wood, blood/iron, so pleasurable. A sense of tar. Constantly evolving.
1 hr decant.

Bellísimo! Eucalyptus gave way to lavender and cocoa. Tightly wound cherry with long tannic finish. Had with frito misto, gnocchi pomodoro, margherita pizza and herb rack of lamb at Casa di Don Alfonso. First indoor meal in >1 year. Was like riding a bike.

Well the bolognese was outstanding. This wine is incredible. I had the same producer last week but different vineyard. This may be better. Hints of camphor/Vick’s , Fabulous.
