Schloss Lieser
Thomas Haag Niederberg Helden GG Riesling
Mosel, Germany

Pop and pour. Pure gold in color. Settled since my last btl, and seems very much GG now. On the nose: pure slate, soft guava, intoxicating perfume of lemon, crushed herbs, peach. On the palate: fantastic acidity, dense peach, mint, cucumber. So juicy, my mouth keeps watering. Looooong finish. The best Niederberg Helden I've had?
I see there has been a lot of variation on these btls, so I am thankful this is so solid.

My first time with this vntg. More spatlese on the nose than GG: lovely guava and mango, a touch of saffron, lychee, so tropical and dense. On the palate: good acidity and density: sour apple, lemon, here we get the GG extract and density. This intensifies in the mouth and has considerable density on the finish. Yum. Less well-delineated than '15 forward, and, unsurprisingly, showing more signs of age.
