Decant for sediment and pour(decent chunky/fine sediment). A prodigious, still inky dark magenta color. On the nose: Terrific notes of musty candied cherry, pine, tobacco leaf, forest floor, little smoked meat. Taste: silky smooth, balanced, elegant wine with blackberry, cassis, earth, minerals, fig, and a long dark chocolate minty finish. YUM! Aged Seavey never disappoints...should hold for more years of drinking pleasure.

Out of a Mag winery direct.
Prefer Heitz for 1990’s.
Takes awhile for the funk to blow off, good color no brick or brown edges, just not my favorite Old Napa

A little tired. Some black fruits here, but a lot of vegetal notes as well. Didn't really do so hot especially sitting right next to an 01 Colgin that pretty much wiped the cab competition right outta the park. I definitely believe bottle variation is in order here, as 97 was a pretty darn good year for Napa cab overall and I would love to see what the bottle that was aging right next to this one tastes like. Love Seavey wines, and muchos gracias to Keith for opening this one.
