2013 Six Hats Viognier, Western Cape, #SouthAfrica #Southafricanwine. I'm always a bit skeptical of Viognier grown in arid climates but this example is well-made. It lacks the intensity of lush fruit often found in the Rhone or in #Virginia, but for a basic every day white, it shines. Ripe pear and honeydew melon with a whiff of lemongrass. $11 SRP. Slightly round and soft on the finish. #wine #sommelier #viognier
