Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Fairly consistent throughout. The 2004 pours a deep garnet color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and slightly desiccated, black and red fruits: black currants, blackberries, black cherry, tobacco, Poblano pepper, pencil shavings, purple flowers, dry rocky earth, a touch of leather, and a combination of cool and fine warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin (that is well integrated), and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and slightly savory. Showing really well and squarely in the zone. Drink now through 2034.

Monthly WTF wine group meet up.

Dusty plum, charcoal, leather and cherry cordial on the nose; young and tannic! Needed a decanting. Older dark chocolate dusted dates, truffled mushroom and overripe blackberry. Drink up!

Elegant, with the tannins softening beautifully after 13 years.

Bordeaux style bottle of liquid pleasure. Balanced, silky smooth, and super long finish. Outstanding. I would wait in line for this-----and I don't do lines!

60 minute decant in decanter. Chilled to 55° prior. Subtle red fruit, still very present for age. 9.3/10

Gave it about an hour in the decanter. Showing extremely well. Happy Valentine’s Day!

This was so tight when I popped the cork, it was barely drinkable. Decent front palette with no finish. After standing with the cork in for 3 days!, it was very pleasant and enjoyable. Rating is the 3 day rating.
