Out of magnum and while very good, still early. Nose of dark currants, ruby fruits of; rich, ripe, elegant; blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, black plum, poached strawberries, vanilla, nutmeg, clove, caramel, mocha, spice, moist dark turned earth, crushed dry rocks, dark cherry liqueur, dry stems, dark fresh florals, violets and lilacs. The body is full, rich, lush and elegant. The tannins while resolved, have lost their baby teeth still have molars. It’s in a lush stage and still very fresh. Ripe blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, black plum, poached strawberries, vanilla, nutmeg, clove, caramel, mocha, spice that heat intensifies and lifts off the palate as it lingers, moist dark turned earth, crushed dry rocks, fresh tobacco, graphite, French roast coffee, dark cherry liqueur, dry stems, dark fresh florals, violets and lilacs. The round acidity is excellent. The length, structure and length is still big and beautiful. The rich, balanced finish is long and lasts minutes. If you have this in magnum, I’d wait another 8-10 years and has another 15-20 years of good drinking ahead. Not the food pair the 78 Langoa gave to the harvest vegetable soup and Prime Rib, but still delicious! Merry Christmas! 🎁🎄⛄️🥗❄️🍷

Really beautiful. This property always performs and should get more credit than it does. Wines are always representative of the vintage yet keep an underlying Rutherford thread running through.

A bit too much surmaturité for me leaving the tannins to show drying/tart at "only" 11+ years of age.
I would opt to drink up.
