Lots of oak, raisin and red fruit on the nose together with stewed plum. Palate is fresh and acid driven, with vanillin tannins. Plums, raisins and stewed red fruits with a nice liquorice savoury finish. — 6 years ago

8.0

Dark in colour, nose shows chocolate and spice, oak notes without being dominant.

Palate shows a little thin, and reasonably little acid with the oak providing some body. Chocolate and stewed plum at first gives way to more savoury flavour. Hints of pepper. Not much on the finish, a little one dimensional, but enjoyable

Brickish tinge, surprisingly. Clear and light appearance.

Nose shows lots of savoury, earthy characteristics, some corn

Earhty, mushroom flavours, clove and ginger, held together with lots of bright acid. Ashy flavours on the finish with just a hint of red fruits rounding it out

Deep gold in colour. Slight honeyed and nutty notes, grapefruit and lime zest show on the nose with some flint and matchstick notes. Beautiful fresh acid, with a lemon curd and lime zest, nutty and steely flavours come through along with green apple and light source on the finish. Nice nutty, melon notes on finish with steely minerality tying it together. — 6 years ago

8.9

Browning appearance and almost translucent

Nose shows some raisin at first but this seems to blow away to show some floral notes that then give way to more savoury elements

Tastes of mushroom and earth, showing plenty of acid still. Very soft tannins, light mouthfeel but the wine showed plenty of length. Balance of acid, tertiary flavours and savouriness make for a wine of intrigue

8.8

Oak, cinnamon, chocolate and stewed fruit on the nose

Palate of mulberry, plum, dark fruits, dusty tannins, broad acid

Inky colour, quite opaque

Fruit forward but enough complexity and structure to be interesting. Lighter wine than it appears.

Purpley in colour. Nose shows a little funk at first, bit of varnish and earth. Prettier floral and stewed fruit flavours on the palate, some nice red cherry there too with enough acid to hold the wine together. Tempranillo savoury dusty finish — 6 years ago

9.1

Dark and brooding in colour but shows browny translucent edges

Nose shows varnish at first and then stalky savoury notes with blood and some red berry too

Tannins still showing but great acid comes through mid palate. Savoury, smoked meats and mushroominess, with a hint of fruit. Ginger shows on the second sip, and savoury smoky notes get stronger but balanced nicely with the acid. Great length and firm tannins leave a lipsmacking taste

Shows very bright and fresh for the age.

9.3

Clear and greeny gold to look at with a certain oily appearance

Nose shows gentle oaky butter, minerality, citrus and tropical fruit notes

Palate shows great acid line, that balances the opulence of the oak. Lots of lemon curd and meringue, nice pear and tropical fruits shine through but balanced beautifully with the acid and oak giving great structure. Interesting wine to taste, but also very smashable
