Try as I might to not overstate the brilliance of this wine, over pork cordon bleu and noodles in the town of Chablis on a cold grey day, this wine was the centrepiece in an unforgettable lunch. My first Raveneau and now I get what all the fuss is about. Muted nose with some flinty smoke, and mineral notes. The palate is complex and multi-layered for a mere Chablis: green apple, yeast, buttered popcorn. The 2nd half then unfurls and saline, citrus, and a hint of stone fruit linger long on the palate. The structure perfectly balances the fruit. Nothing out of place. High acid, med+ complexity, high quality. — 13 days ago

Imagine picking this up on a wine list for $140!! Yep - welcome to the famous Le Soufflot in Mersault. The Coche reductive struck match is there, along with lemon, white flowers, and mineral. The palate is dense and clearly would benefit from more time. This was excellent, but frankly a bit underwhelming given the reputation. Perhaps +2-3 pts in 5+ years — 12 days ago

Hugely impressive as always. The fruit on the nose is darker but there is a wonderful savoury/spicy note which also carries through on the palate. Tannins are fine, almost imperceptible but grip and length are created by the dark sour cherry spice that dominates the mid palate and balances the beautiful pure fruit.
