Chill 10 minutes before serving. Tasting notes of pomegranate, raspberry, red cherry, white pepper. A hand-crafted Grenache from the high-elevation Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard reveals bright red fruit notes.

The very atmosphere of the Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard feels wild and restless. Sited between 2800-3200 feet above sea level, this is the highest elevation vineyard in Santa Barbara County and covers hills and mountain plateaus. The high-elevation location provides more UV intensity than anywhere else in the county, while a 30-40 degree daily temperature swing helps keep the grapes protected from the sun’s intensity. This unique and extreme location provides the grapes for the 2018 Grenache, which were picked at night and fermented whole-cluster. With naturally beautiful aromatics, the result is a light ruby red wine – fresh and fruity with silky tannins, lean acidity, and a long finish.

Longitude 120 West 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles, California

Taste exuberant fruit flavors with a kiss of spice in this stunning 90 point, Gold Medal-winning Cabernet. Paso Robles, California is a region that we think has long been underrated. Sitting in the Central Valley it experiences large diurnal shifts and has incredibly diverse soils. That means that daytime temperatures in the growing season can sometimes reach up to 105 degrees, but Pacific winds sweep in to drop the lows to around 50 degrees. This shift allows the grapes to mature but still retain acidity. This wine bursts with plum and black and sour cherry as well as dark chocolate, cracked black pepper, and cloves. High acidy means that the wine will pair beautifully with rich dishes. We like it with steak, roasted duck, and blue cheese. Judges love it too! It took home 90 points and a Gold Medal from the 2020 Winemaker Challenge, a Silver Medal from the 2020 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and a Silver Medal at the 2019 New Orleans International Wine Competition. It retails for $24. Color- deep ruby

Gilded Letter 2018 Zinfandel Lodi, California
Drink in the opulence of the Double Gold medal-winning “Best of Lodi” Gilded Letter Zinfandel. Gilding is a process of applying gold, and in doing so the artist adds more value to an object. The winemaker of Gilded Letter has done the same for this Zinfandel. Full-bodied with firm tannins, it is voluptuous and formidable at the same time. Our experts love the richness of the red fruit and chocolate notes, but the real complexity comes with the subtle hints of cracked black pepper and spice. This Lodi wine shines with food, the structure holding up to the hardiest flavors. It retails for $23

So light and lovely! I’m a fan.

Tasting notes of green apple, honeysuckle, lychee, rose petal.

A California-fresh spin on the unique Gewürztraminer grape, the 2019 vintage has notes of tropical fruit and white flowers.

Kenny Likitprakong, the winemaking partner who created our Brethren of the Road brand, is a wanderlust-driven, self-professed “hobo winemaker” whose stint in France sparked his allegiance to minimalist, non-interventionist methods. This lively Gewürztraminer is no exception. A grape that originally hails from Italy (not Germany, surprisingly), Gewürtz is known for producing a highly aromatic wine with exuberant fruit, floral and spice notes. The grapes for this bottling were sourced from the cool climate of Monterey and fermented in stainless steel to achieve a clean, pure, early-drinking wine. Soft and light on the palate, it’s a dry wine balanced with vibrant minerality and a little spice.

Cherry Vanilla Coke wine. Lovely. Meiggs' Pardon 2018 Promissory Red Mendocino County, California

Taste a complex, award-winning wine — fitting for its complex namesake man. Like Meiggs this wine has a storied and complex history. This red blend unfolds as you enjoy it, especially when paired with a leisurely meal. The dark fruit flavors mix with earth and minerals, with a very slight herbaceous kick at the end. Filled with robust notes of plum and blackberry that play off of ripe acidity and beautiful tertiary notes, this is a wine that’s hard to put down. The only thing that can make it better is to pair it with rich foods as they come off the grill. It retails for $25.
