Deliciously rubbery peaches & grilled pineapple, makrut, dying alpine blossoms and scree. A really impressive little riesling for the price. Could do much worse for a weeknight sipper. 🍑⛽🏞️

Just noticed this is bottle # 999 on Delectable. Damn, now I feel pressured to open something special for # 1000 😂

The "bigger" of the two Lodi zins they're offering, landing in the mid 13% area. Delivers rich red and black fruit, green peppercorn, rosebuds and bramble. From Clements Hills, and finishes with the sandy granite, almost-Foothills feel that this vineyard is known for. Medium bodied with refreshing acidity and sneaky tannins. Great structure for ageing, think I'll lay one down. 🍒🌹🏞️🛏️ — 5 years ago

Alsace Pinot Blanc 2016

Bright, dry and refreshing take on pinot blanc. Floral with a bitter Seville orange finish. At 11%, it's a humble light sipper from a producer that I associate with rich, show-stopper rieslings and pinot gris. However, no skimping on the Alsace maximalist tradition of deploying 7+ fonts all at once. 🍊🌼🪶 — 5 years ago

Bright and lemony up front, with lots of tension. Then things get more savory with cashews, brine and bay laurel. Chalky, sandy minerality and lemon curd on the finish. 🍋🍃🏖️🤗 — 5 years ago

Always a lovely syrah, with olive and garrigue on the nose. Palate is bursting juicy raspberries and pepper with a slightly meaty edge. Bright acidity, modest tannins and schist on the finish. 🫒🥓⛰️ — 5 years ago

👋 Hi, system isn’t letting me reply to your reply? Was thinking of you with that wine, and the red mentioned by Adam.

You could put this in a single-blind tasting lineup of Loire chenins as a ringer, and it would fool most. I would rather celebrate it solo, with food.

Bright green-gold, with hints of the brassy color it will be one day. Bruised yellow apples and pears, candied lemon peel, beeswax and lanolin. Crushed rock, flinty and slightly phenolic. Totally dry but implies a sucrosity that just killed it next to chicken-fried maitake & oyster mushrooms.

Many years ahead for this one. Sactown Savennières?

Nearly mistakable for Burgundy, perhaps a good but not excellent Volnay. The lingering cherry finish reminds you that it is indeed new world, despite it's earthy demeanor. Bright acidity and and low but firm tannins. Muted red fruit, sous bois, tea leaves and limestone. Attractive entry level pinot at a good price. 🍒🍂🍄 — 5 years ago

Bright, enjoyable sangiovese that leans toward cherry and balsamic tones. Solid value. 🍒🍝 — 5 years ago

Every time I have varietal clairette, I'm reminded why it's a blending grape, or a vermouth workhorse. Even a hipster effort, picked earlier, is drinkable but still just kinda flabby and uninteresting. Usually dig most of Texier's stuff, I'll pass on this. Honestly, wasn't expecting a lot. 🥱🍏🌰 — 5 years ago

Same. It's an odd one. This had a nice nuttiness that might be great in a blend, but solo it was whatever.

Not quite as distinctive or complex as the bottle of their syrah that I had a couple weeks ago, but that's 🍎 to 🍊 right? A fruity and fleshy pinot, with enough spice and acidity to keep it interesting. Enjoyable but not my fave. — 5 years ago
