This is proper NZ SB. Absolutely love it once the worst chill left the glass. Distinct flint on the nose, followed by gooseberry, grapefruit, grass and (I'm not mad) nuts & boiled potatoes. A lovely mouthful with a long lasting finish. Paid a shade over £20 but happy that its better value than the Greywacke (2015) that I tried beside at £18. My new favourite NZ Sauvingnon Blanc. — 9 years ago

I've loved Kevin Judd's Sauvingnon Blanc efforts since the Cloudy Bay days. Greywacke has always offered the best of NZ Sauvingnon Blanc for a cracking price. Everything you'd expect with lots of fruit (lime, grapefruit) and grass - I simply couldn't believe my luck when I first tasted. But has it lost a step here (2015)? Tried it against a nice but cheaper Rimpare - Greywacke just had the edge. But compared with the Saint Clair Wairau Reserve (2014] it came a distant second. I still love the wine - so it's not bad - but I ask myself if the sudden popularity has had a negative impact on the quality. My money will go on the Saint Clair. — 9 years ago
