PJW #6 - Totally classic burgundy, redolent fruit (cherries) yet soft tannins, minimal acidity, on the lighter side, long beautiful finish, excellent. Lean more toward pork/poultry with this one — 10 days ago

This is the Artemia Ventoux not the Quintessence….stellar southern Rhône, I can’t remember anything like this that’s not a CDP - deep dark inky color, sinus-clearing nose, palate is chewy, tannic but not overwhelming, I would have confused for a good cote rotie or rioja. Love it, can’t believe it’s a Ventoux. Actually started to get a bit earthy after being open awhile, I would *not* decant and just pop and drink! PJW says it’s all the vintage. Dunno. — 14 days ago

Brought this to date night at La Crem; excellent G-C, nose is superb, palate is restrained rather than explosive; started to seem a bit wooden later in the opening. Paired best with the Dover sole course — a month ago

PJW #3 - better than the Eisele Syrah - fruit forward, not offensive, pretty fresh, but weird little acidic twist at the end — 12 days ago

PJW 6 pack for his visit - this is OTH, definitely some funk, Paul says wasn’t kept well, but great bones, it really grew on me as it opened - smoky, a bit of cobwebs, love it. Should seek out a ‘16 — 12 days ago

Stellar barbaresco, I think the best I’ve ever tried - sort of a funky/barnyard nose but the tannins are much softened - probably the age — a month ago

PJW 6 pack #2 - There’s an ocean of this Napa fruitopia around - perfectly refined yet boring - I switched back to the OTH CDP. Paul says the French bought Eisele from Araujo - I hope they haven’t ruined the cab as well — 12 days ago

I love a power rose and this rioja from Horseneck delivers. Dark color, almost red; fresh raspberries/strawberries, I didn’t check but probably above average ABV - excellent — a month ago
