Reminded that the generally more expressive Clos Du Bourg is preferred but this Le Mont is still delicious. Detail unnoted. — a year ago
Travel-fatigued, I looked after glass two and discovered it was not Fritz Haag! — a year ago
Deep garnet; compelling nose of black fruits with violet, tobacco and mineral; palate is more black fruit and mineral, deep and juicy, finish is tannic and very long. Enjoyable tonight but if you’re young give is a decade or two. — 5 days ago
Light gold; Expressive nose with fresh white flower, ripe orchard fruit and chalky mineral; palate is creamy with ripe peach and pear and distinct mineral notes plus a hint of grip. — a year ago
Full gold; nose of citrus and dry flower but with some oxidation, fall apple and distinct spice on the very dry palate. Italian direct import bottle and clearly advanced. — a year ago
Very pale straw; nose is flinty and reduced but very intense opening to more mineral than its lemon fruit; super young, bright and grippy palate with lemon and rocky mineral and finishing very long. Wait some years on this. — 5 days ago
Light gold; reticent nose with pome fruits slowly coming on; bright grippy palate that’s a little hallow . . . this is tainted. Second bottle a 91. — a year ago
Not like the favored semillions recalled from my youth. (OK, with time it’s blossomed up a point to 90.) — a year ago
Light straw gold; nice nose of yellow fruits, even including dried apricot; ripe and rich in the fullish mouth with orchard fruit but barely enough acidity to be Chablis. — 2 years ago
Winton Sweum
Pale gold; nose is subtle but inviting with distinct mineral and later a little nutty; the mouth is creamy with notes of soil and salinity that bring to mind barrel-fermented Chablis, but with less of a bite. Delicious. — 2 days ago
